For the next 18 months the two of us, Eli and Katy, and our two mutts, Colby and Barlow, will travel the United States three months at a time. Katy, who graduated in December with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Elon University, is doing travel therapy and will do 13 week rotations at different locations around the country. We're going to try and use this opportunity to experience as much as we can, and then share our adventures with our friends and family.

Bass Lake and Yosemite!

Katy with all the dogs!
This past weekend we met up with Uncle Jack, Aunt Sue, my cousin Tod, and his son, Bradley, for a long holiday weekend in the Sierra Nevadas! We got up to Sue and Jack's fifth wheel at Bass Lake Friday night, and then staid up late talking and enjoying each other's company.

Saturday morning Tod and Bradley joined us and after spending a while visiting we went into town to have lunch. We ate outside with a nice view of the lake as our backdrop, and then after lunch we strolled around the lake for a bit and enjoyed some of the wildlife. That afternoon we did a lot of relaxing, which was a very nice change of pace from our usual trips where we are constantly on the go. Sue and Jack had rented a cabin at Bass Lake, and so we all just hung out together chatting, watching movies and eating dinner...it was a wonderful evening and the kind of relaxation Katy and I had been needing.

On Sunday Sue cooked a big breakfast and then we headed up to Yosemite. On our way up the mountain we ran into some snow showers! This is definitely the first Memorial Day where I've been snowed on! The park was packed with tourists, but for good reason as Yosemite has some of the most gorgeous scenery I have ever seen!

After enjoying the day in the park we headed away from the crowds and back to peaceful Bass Lake where we had an amazing steak and salmon dinner to celebrate the Memorial Day weekend!

On Monday Katy and I were up and out the door by 5:30am so we could get back to Napa and Katy could go to work. We can't believe the weekend is already over...with staying as busy as have been, time flies! It was another wonderful weekend, and this time we were able to enjoy it with some wonderful family!
