For the next 18 months the two of us, Eli and Katy, and our two mutts, Colby and Barlow, will travel the United States three months at a time. Katy, who graduated in December with her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Elon University, is doing travel therapy and will do 13 week rotations at different locations around the country. We're going to try and use this opportunity to experience as much as we can, and then share our adventures with our friends and family.

Taking advantage of the weather!

On Sunday we decided that since we had been stuck at a car dealer for most of Saturday, we would get out and enjoy the nice weather and do some hiking. We drove up to Silver Falls State Park which is about 20 miles east of Salem. The park is home to 10 different waterfalls and over 24 miles of walking trails. There were a number of trails that was off limit to dogs, so we just did a three mile loop and got to see two of the waterfalls on foot, and then we drove to an overlook to catch a peak at another one of the falls. On our way back from hiking we stopped in Salem for an early dinner at the Word of Mouth Neighborhood Bistro. We both got the turkey burger because the menu listing grabbed our attention....

It was very tasty and we also got some clam chowder to split which was delicious as well! It was a good weekend and now we're ready for week two!

    ooowee! I am so glad Liam told me about your blog! I have just read through it all and am dripping with envy! The Willamette Valley!!???! You are two lucky ducks! and what a beautiful place to live! I do miss the farm life. I'm glad you are getting some good weather too! What a beautiful place to be when the sun is shining! I'll look forward to your updates!
